Initially, I was leaning to either Liza Minelli or John Malkovich for the Tony, but then Pres. Obama took his lovely wife, Michelle, to a restaurant on 42nd Street near the Broadway Theatre District on a date night. Slam dunk! And the Tony goes to ... BARACK OBAMA!

(If Al Gore can win an Oscar, what's so crazy about this scenario?)

By the way, I know that Constitutionally, no member of Congress, Court or Executives may have titles -Duke, Baron, etc. from foreign govs. And I know this isn't a Title...

But I also recall that there's a US Code saying that Federal Employees can't receive gifts from foreign governments. Exception is if not accepting the gift would be an insult to the giver or would cause harm to our foreign relations. In such cases, the recipient graceously accepts and then donates the gift - to a museum, charity, etc.

It could be that the President is excepted, but even if so, will Obama donate his $1.2 Million gift card from the Nobel Committee like he would expect any of his staffers to do?

At this point, the Nobel Peace Prize is so worthless the only value this award can bring is by melting down the gold medal and holding on to the ingot while the dollar continues its slide.

Flee,
If Obama abides by long-standing traditions, he almost HAS to give the money to charity. That's kinda the way that it works.

BTW, I'm thinking over a new post, inspired by some comments made by Marvel Variants at my workplace.

All of the Democrat administrations in my adult life have won a Nobel: Carter, Gore, and now Obama. But can you imagine how Clinton must feel being the odd man out? THEY GAVE THE NOBEL TO GORE INSTEAD OF ME ???

He's also bound to be tormented by the knowledge that if it weren't for Obama, She Whose Name Is Not Spoken would be next in line.

Clinton helped us out with NAFTA, he was more or less a free trader, and presided over a massive economic boom. He also (during the height of Lewinskygate) bombed Iraq to distract us from his girlfriend problems.

He was everything the Scandinavians detest. He accomplished a lot. It's just not fair.

Let's band together and get Slick Willie a Nobel. All the other cool kids have one.

Allen,
No ack to emails to you so I'll put it here:
"Join us for National Government Sucks Day on November 7, 2009, in Hillsboro, Texas. The rally will be held in the village square at Middlefaire Renaissance Festival in Hillsboro starting at 11am. This is being branded as the World’s First Tea Party for Libertarians, Anarchists, Objectivists, and followers of Ron Paul. Front porch radicals and independents are free to attend, as well. No Astroturf’ers allowed."
