There is only one goddess Gaia, and Al Gore is her prophet

Here's Al Gore on Conan O'Brien trying to explain one of the perpetual motion machines that he will soon force upon the gullible:

Here's some of the transcript, compliments of the good folks at Hot Air:

Conan: Now, what about … you talk in the book about geothermal energy …
The Goracle Of Music City: Yeah, yeah.
Conan: ....and that is, as I understand it, using the heat that’s generated from the core of the earth …
The Goracle Of Music City: Yeah.
Conan: … to create energy, and it sounds to me like an evil plan by Lex Luthor to defeat Superman. Can you, can you tell me, is this a viable solution, geothermal energy?
The Goracle Of Music City: It definitely is, and it’s a relatively new one. People think about geothermal energy — when they think about it at all — in terms of the hot water bubbling up in some places, but two kilometers or so down in most places there are these incredibly hot rocks, ’cause the interior of the earth is extremely hot, several million degrees, and the crust of the earth is hot …

Several million degrees? Do some Googling. Maybe he was thinking of the Sun. It doesn't really matter. His heart is in the right place and he means well. Give him your money. Give him control over manufacturing, trucking, and your thermostat. Who you gonna believe, Al Gore, or a thermometer?

WS: I hate to say it, but you're starting to sound a lot like Crankshaft -- not the effect I think you're going for.

Yeah, I know. I almost called this site "The Guy Who Is Too Young To Be A Curmudgeon", but it was already taken.

In the meantime, your share of the national debt just hit 40K. Just in time for us to invest money in a Gore/Kleiner-Perkins scheme to funnel energy from earth's million degree core to do something else with it.

Still going with the "Global warming is a religion" meme?
(sigh)
So let me guess.
That makes NASA a temple, right?

Why do you suppose NASA is lying to you?
How does the conspiracy work?
The scientists are really priests and acolytes.
Ok.
How and when did this happen?
Seriously, what evidence do you have?

Ok, I get it. You hate Al Gore.
(Boo Al Gore. Al Gore is fat. Enough already.)

NASA is "in it for the gold".
Hmm.

Yet...how does the conspiracy work?
How does NASA fudge the evidence day-to-day?
How do they fiddle the books?
How do they get the bees to co-operate?

Oh, and when will you finally get around to exploding the "70's Ice Age Myth" based upon your own long promised research?

Cedric Katesby,
How in the Hell on God's Own green Earth do you conflate NASA to global warming/global cooling/man-made temperature change?

Inquirung minds want to know. Please attempt to explain in rational short sentences. Something easy for you to expostulate on.

Let me bring you up to speed.

Our host thinks that "it's getting colder".
He's not buying the fallback argument that "Sure, it's getting warming but we still don't know what's causing it".
Nope.
He's not willing to go that far.
That's too crazy and radical for him.
The kind of thing that a hippie commie type would say.

He's convinced that "it's getting colder".
His scientific method?
He looked out the frikkin' window!

Quote: They're sticking their heads out the window and looking at the thermometer.

To heck with all them fancy-shmancy satellites and Antartic ice core readings, and glacier monitoring and rainfall pattern surveys and beetle infestations and ocean acidifications and methane losses in the permafrost and whatnot.

Our host has a window and a thermometer.
That settles it as far as he is concerned.

That’s a bad way of doing things. Really bad.

NASA (together with all other scientific communities on the planet) spells it out nice and clear.
It’s all on their website.
A web-site especially created for the layman.
There's more from NASA here.
Of particular interest is this...
and this...
What does NASA recommend for further reading?
I'm glad you asked.

Yet remember.
NASA is involved in a mass global conspiracy to steal your tax dollars.
They are liars and cheats and swindlers of the worst kind.
The smelly hippies and the commies put flouride in the water to sekritly brain wash all the scientists at NASA.
NASA sucks.
Science is a religion.
....plus (of course) Al Gore is fat.

I must say, I like Gore's new self-deprecating tack... On the 'green' episode of 30 Rock, Gore makes a cameo and says "There's an old African proverb - that I made up: 'RECYCLE EVERYTHING.'"
