Something to think about

The documentation for this startling statement is in the fine print at the bottom of the poster.

This same fondness for earlier enslavement is seen amongst former East Germans, and amongst those who lived under the totalitarian USSR government. I find I have to point this out or people think I'm saying slavery wasn't so bad!

To be fair. The Southern economy was wrecked, the slaves were displaced and had in many respects liberty in name only. It is quite shocking that it was pretty much a century between the emancipation Declaration and Rosa Parks.

So, I'm not sure the analogy (striking though it is) to our current Stockholm Syndrome is that apt.
